Today on Practical Scrappers is the next layout sketch reveal by the very talented Liz Chidester

It's so fun working with her sketches!

And here is my layout! I used Teresa Collins' He Said She Said line..I though it went perfect with the photos I wanted to use.

I used cardstock letter stickers from Lily Bee and new wood grain Thickers from the American Crafts Amy Tangerine line Yes Please

Here I layered die cuts from thee 12x12 coordinating sheet as well as washi tape and a cute chevron stamp from My Mind's Eye
I had to use my new stamp from Ali Edwards Technique Tuesday Super Fantastic Clear Stamp set!!

These chevrons are cut from the Silhouette. I also added some paint from Studio Calico Mr. Huey in Letter Jacket.

I cut these triangles from the Silhouette....the bottom one I covered with washi tape from Pebbles.

At the time, Noah was so obsessed with trains. We were waiting for the Labor Day parade to start and he wanted to walk down to the railroad crossing. He said to us" Aren't they beautiful?" LOL He even had to sit down on them.

Clear Scraps 6x6 Tab Acrylic Album

Hello all. Hope those of you who got hit with a large amount of snow have dug yourself out. My kids are on spring break so not a good start.

Today I'm up on the Clear Scraps blog sharing my mini acrylic album using the 6x6 Tab Album. I've loved Clear Scraps' mini albums for a very long time! They are so fun to work with as well as great quality.

I used photos of my adorable nephew, Deacon, and the line Little Boy Blue by Crate Paper

I used a stamped quote from the Ali Edwards' Technique Tuesday Sweet Baby Clear Stamp set.

I used many of the chipboard and cardstock sticker pieces that coordinate with the line. My arrow is cut from the Cameo Silhouette.  The "welcome sweet baby" is another stamp from the Sweet Baby Clear Stamp Set.

New decorative pins from Maya Road! Love the colors! I also included a wooden veneer word bubble from Studio Calico.

I used another cut file from the Silhouette, as well as made the heart tab.  The flair is from {a flair for buttons}

Here, I used another tab from the Silhouette. The stamped circle is from the Smitten Clear Stamp set by Mama Elephant.

Some cute flair from the Dear Lizzy line Lucky Charm and a stamped sentiment from the same Mama Elephant set.  I also added some cute wooden veneer chevrons from Studio Calico.

Love this cut file from the Silhouette shop designed by Dear Lizzy!  I added some wooden veneer stars from Studio Calico.

I love making minis for other people..including my family!  These photos were taken by the very talented Sara Lefler. Visit her Facebook page here:  SaraBeth Photography.

Red Crocs

TGIF!  It's unofficially the weekend!  My dear husband turns the big 5-3 on Sunday so we'll be celebrating. I'm sure though he'll be out watching NCAA tournament basketball games. He lives for this time of year!

The layout I'm sharing today is one I did awhile ago. It was a spur of the moment one I decided to do to use up some of my stash.  Plus, I love this picture of Hailey...she was a day shy of her 4th birthday and the flower girl in my sister's wedding. For the wedding party introduction at the reception, she had insisted on taking off her pretty white shoes and putting on her red Crocs (which she lived in).
I think an hour later, she was out of her dress and into shorts and a t-shirt!

I used piece of Dear Lizzy's 5th Avenue and Frolic collection for my layout....all picked from
The Scrapbooking Studio (my second home!).

I used a combination of letters from American Crafts, Sassafras Lass, and Basic Grey

Cute flair from {a flair for buttons}!

I created a banner with the cardstock stickers and some vellum. Of course, I had to stitch through the banner!! I love my sewing machine!

Journaling card from the collection...the cute red woodgrain washi tape is from Freckled Fawn.

The "best things" sentiment is part of a snippet from Elle's Studio. I also added arrows created with my Silhouette.

Have a great weekend!

You Are Perfect To Me

Today I am happy to share a layout I did for one of the Studio Calico designer challenges. The idea is to create a layout based on a song title. I've been wanting to do this for a very long time!  And this challenge definitely got me to finally make this layout.  I used P!nk's song "Perfect" with my daughter in mind.  Her being 9 (going on 19), I've noticed how she struggles with her self esteem and finding the beauty within herself.  There are days I wish I could fast forward her through the teen years so her sake (and mine).   Hailey is my "mini me" and I remember the hurts and heartaches of girlhood.  It seems 1000 times worse to watch her go through it.

I created my title with my Cameo Silhouette and Thickers by American Crafts.  I am LOVING the turquoise sketch Thickers!  I got these at The Scrapbooking Studio!

Cute arrow flair from the Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm line.  I added some DL washi tape and a heart pennant done with my Silhouette.

Smile/arrow stamp from Hero Arts (for Studio Calico) and a turquoise star pin from Maya Road (one of my new goodies from SC!)

I misted the Maya Road camera chipboard with October Afternoon Sprinkler in Token. Love these cameras! The set comes with mini polaroids too!

I'm trying to create more for me along with projects for design teams!  At first I felt guilty for subscribing to the SC kit but I am loving all of the goodies!!
Thanks for stopping by...do you subscribe to any monthly kits? There are a lot of great ones out there!

Practical Scrappers March card sketch

Happy first day of Spring!  It doesn't feel like spring here in Central Illinois as its only supposed to get to a high of 30 today. I'm so over winter!! Bring on the flip flops and capris!
Ok, I'm done ranting!

Today on Practical Scrappers is the March card sketch reveal!  Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

I used Lily Bee Design's Persnickety paper for my card (one of my favorite lines!)

The stamped sentiment is from the Hero Arts "Its Your Day" Clear Stamp set and the jar is from Dear Lizzy's new Lucky Charm collection.  I also added some cute wooden veneer chevrons from Studio Calico.

I added some fun enamel dots left over from my stash of Teresa Collins' Memories line.

Be sure to check out Practical Scrappers today to see other designers' cards!

Clear Scraps Clearly Framed layout

It's Saturday!  Now where is spring? It keeps snowing here in Central Illinois. I don't like it. But, the nice thing is that the days are longer.

Today I am sharing a layout I created for Clear Scraps using their very fun Mascils and Clearly Framed acrylic pieces.

I love the Mascils...they are a lot of fun to play with. I used the 6x6 Circle Mascil and some Antique Linen Distress Paint to cover the left half of my page. I incorporated pieces of my Studio Calico scrapbook kit from February as well.

A close up of the embellishments that include flair, wooden veneer pieces, patterned paper, and a stamped image onto vellum (the stamp is from Mama Elephant..check them out on Two Peas!)

I covered the  Clearly Framed Medium Circle Deco Frame with patterned paper from Amy Tangerine. I like to use liquid adhesive first and then cut around the frame. Last, I use a sanding tool to smooth the edges.

Hope you have a good weekend!  Thanks for reading!

October Afternoon's Farm Girl mini and tag

Happy Friday!  Glad its almost the weekend!  I am a single parent most of the weekend as my hubby left for the Big Ten Tournament in Chicago this morning.  Not sure what the kids and I will do but hope to get lots of scrapping done!

Today I am sharing a mini book I did for The Scrapbooking Studio design team.  I used October Afternoon's Farm Girl collection.  The book itself is the Here and Now Grow book from OA. I lightly painted it using Tim Holtz's new Distress Paint in Antique Linen.

I created this fun flower with the denim tulle trim and kraft butterfly and vintage button pins from Maya Road.  I finished with adhering a chipboard button in the center with bakers twine from Whisker Graphics.

On the inside of the front cover, I used one of the chipboard journaling spots with letter stickers from Jillibean Soup

Love the journaling cards and Tin Pins (flair) that come with the collection!  The chevron stamp is from the He Said She Said Clear Stamp set from Teresa Collins.

I used pieces from the Sew Fun Banners, as well as coordinating decorative brads and button!  Love the vintage look of this line!

Another of the journaling cards. I popped up one of the coordinating cardstock stickers.

Here, I used the cute canning jar cardstock stickers. I popped up the middle jar and added bakers twine from Whisker Graphics. The arrow is cut from my Silhouette with kraft cardstock.  The stamped sentiment is from an Ali Edwards Technique Tuesday set.

Also, here is a tag I created with the Farm Girl line.  I took a kraft tag from Ranger and stitched different strips of patterned paper onto it.

I then added the chipboard mason jar and sentiment with bakers twine.

Do any of you like to make mini books?  Thanks for stopping by..hope this gave you some inspiration to create this weekend!
