Clear Scraps Ideas for Summer Crafting Blog Hop!

It's Day Three of the blog hop! Hope you've enjoyed hopping with our design team and that you've gotten many great ideas for your summer projects!

Today I am sharing a summer themed layout I created with the Circle Acrylic Border.  The Acrylic Borders are a fun addition to any project!

For my layout, I inked the border with Ranger alcohol ink in Pool, then cut apart.

At the top of my photo, I added a piece of the border as well as circles of patterned paper and flair from {a flair for buttons}.

Here, I used a larger circle from the border and covered it with patterned paper. I then lined the edges of the circle with white paint.

I placed the other half of the border around my title. Again, I added circles of patterned paper, as well as enamel dots from My Mind's Eye

Journaling and date sticker from the collection I used: Websters Pages Allison Kreft's Sweet Notes

Clear Scraps Memorial Day Card and Layout

Happy Memorial Day! Thank you to all that have given their lives for our freedom!

Today I am up on the Clear Scraps blog with a patriotic card and layout.

First up, I used the Half Scallop Send It Clear Card and Authentique's new Pride collection.  I colored my acrylic pieces with Red Pepper Alcohol Ink from Ranger

After covering each acrylic piece with patterned paper, I added a Clear Shape Small Star and rosette (made with the Tim Holtz Rosette die) in the center.  I used Art Anthology Dimension Crystal in Blizzard around the edge of the star.

On the left flap of the card, I used the 12 inch Brick Wall Mascil with Dylusions spray in White Linen.

On the inside,  I used some of the coordinating cardstock stickers from the Pride collection.

Next up is a layout I created also using the Pride collection. I used the 12x12 Acrylic Sheet from Clear Scraps as my background.

Behind my title, I used another Clear Shape Small Star. I first colored it with Red Pepper alcohol ink then placed a doily behind to help the red "pop".   The chipboard letters are from American Crafts

A star I cut from my Silhouette (hand drawn stars # 10686).

Another rosette and decorative pin from Maya Road.

I colored this chipboard arrow from Pink Paislee with Red Maya Road mist.

Thanks for stopping by! Everyone have a safe and fun day!

Practical Scrappers May Card Sketch

Hi all...Happy Friday!
I can't believe how fast this week went!  Monday, I started taking a boot camp class that is 3 days a week at 6am. So, I've been a little tired. I really do like it though...I mean its tough but the instructor is awesome.
Today, I am sharing a card I created for the Practical Scrappers May Card Sketch.  Here is the sketch designed by Patty Selah:

And here is my card! I used Crate Paper's mid-season release, The Pier (one of my favorites!)

I cut 1.5 x 1.5 inch squares of patterned paper and used my Tim Holtz paper distresser on the edges.  I then added pieces of small embellishments. I love wooden veneer pieces (as you can see) and love to use them on all my products!

For my title, I used sticker letters from Basic Grey and added an enamel dot from My Mind's Eye and cute little sequin stars from Studio Calico. The wooden veneer chevrons are from Studio Calico, as well.

Cute wooden arrow from Freckled Fawn;  I adhered paper behind to highlight the arrow.

Love the 12x12 coordinating chipboard sheet that comes with the collection. Here is a yellow dot geo tag:

Everyone have a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Studio Calico Sundrifter card (fun with neons!)

Hello! I'm back with my last project I created with Studio Calico's Sundrifter collection.  I am a huge fan of Studio Calico products!  I made this card for the design team at The Scrapbooking Studio (my second home!)

I started with a white piece of cardstock and cut the word "hello" with my Silhouette.  I then used the Mr. Huey Word Bubble Mask and sprayed different colors into each bubble.  I was happy to use the limited edition neon colors I got from Studio Calico!

I cut a word bubble with my Silhouette and then added an assortment of sequins in the middle.

I took the same pattern and placed it behind my title.

A simple card but fun colors!  I love working with masks and spray inks! Be sure to visit The Scrapbooking Studio to see their great selection of products!
Thanks for reading!

Studio Calico's Sundrifter mini album *photo heavy*

Hello...warm weather today in Central Illinois which is perfect for the project I'm sharing today.  Studio Calico's Sundrifter is a great summer line! I created this mini book for the design team at
The Scrapbooking Studio

I started with the Geotag Handbook and sprayed it with Mr. Huey in Garden.
I covered the front with patterned paper, Thickers from American Crafts, coordination number stickers, and my fav new embellishment: Photo Slides from Crate Paper. I also used a cut file from my Silhouette (Dear Lizzy Chevron card # 38761 ).

I used a combination of the photo sleeves as well as the Sundrifter Handbook inserts throughout my book.

Love the word bubble journaling spots!  I even got out my electric typewriter for this project! The stamped sentiment is from Mama Elephant.

In one of the pockets, I added paper confetti, sequins, coordinating die cuts, and wood veneer pieces and sewed the top shut.

This page actually is a pocket. I adhered the bottom of the photo inside the pocket and added washi tape from Pebbles, as well as triangle stickers from the coordinating 12x12 sticker sheet.

A Project Life trick I used here...cutting a photo in half to fit the different sizes of pockets. In the upper left corner, I used a cut file for my journaling.  Love chevrons!

Here, I used one of the photo frames that comes with the die cut package and added journaling and a cute feather.

Thanks for stopping by and looking. I loved scrapping about one of our favorite family vacations!

Practical Scrappers May Sketch Reveal

Hi everyone...happy Friday! I'm glad this week is over..it definitely went fast. And I'm FINALLY feeling well again. Stupid flu.
Anyway, today I am sharing a layout I created for the Practical Scrappers design team. On the blog is the May layout sketch reveal. I always love working with Liz's sketches...she is fabulous!
Here is her sketch:

And here is my layout...I designed with Glitz Designs' Unchartered Waters collection.

I just love embellishments!  Here, I used one of the photo frames from Crate Paper's The Pier collection, along with a geotag flair from The Paper Bakery.  I also incorporated the cute anchor flair that came with my Studio Calico kit this month!  How perfect!  The chipboard star is from Pink Paislee...I misted it with Mr. Huey in Garden .  Also from my SC kit, I used some of the tiny star sequins!

Another photo frame backed with vellum and pieces of the Uncharted Waters stitched garland.

More stars and garland....

Be sure to check out Practical Scrappers for more layouts!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
